How long is Umrah - Minimum days for Umrah

How long is Umrah? What are the minimum days for Umrah? The questions asked by more than 1000 Muslims. The world is moving fast. Today there are lots of people who want to perform Umrah. But they don't have the time. Here is a guide on performing an Umrah in minimum time.

I have considered the rest time. I have allocated enough time for transportation too.

There are two steps

  1. Preparing for Umrah
  2. Performing Umrah

Preparing for Umrah - A minimum Days Umrah

To get ready for Umrah you must have

  • Umrah VISA.
  • Flight tickets.
  • Hotel booking.

Umrah visa - read here how to get an Umrah visa.

Flight tickets - your arriving airport will be Jeddah international Airport. You will travel on a direct flight. If direct flights are not available, try a flight with a one-stop with the minimum transfer time. Click here to find the flights.

Hotel booking - you will book a hotel for one night near masjid Al haram. Do not book too far away. Click here for hotels near masjid Al haram.

Once the above documents are ready, you are set to depart for Jeddah and perform the Umrah.

Performing umrah -  how long is umrah - 6 hours maximum

You will have your ihram clothes with you. If the flight is direct, you will wear ihram at the airport, the airport of your departure flight. If the flight has one transit stop. You can wear ihram there. In Some Airlines, the Captian announce before they enter the Meeqat. You have to go to flight lavatory and wear it. Believe me, and it's not a good idea, but doable. And enter the state of ihram.

Click here if you don't have ihram.

Start reciting Talbiyah when you enter the Meeqat.

Once you arrive at Jeddah airport, make sure you confirm, which terminal is your departure terminal. There are two terminals in Jeddah International Airport. Take a taxi to your hotel in Makkah masjid Al Haram. It's a 90 mins journey. Get a shared taxi at $15. Or get a full taxi at $40. Don't pay more than $65 for the whole taxi. Keep reciting the Talbiyah.

Check-in, your hotel! Keep your luggage. If you want to eat, you can eat some food. Ask the reception they will help you.

Check out this detailed guide of how to perform umrah step by step.

Once you are inside haram, there are 3 steps to perform umrah

  1. Tawaf
  2. Sa'i
  3. Clip the hair or shave off

Continue to Recite Talbiyah. Once you reach the Masjid Al Haram entrance-stop the Talbiyah and read this

  • Enter the tawaf area.
  • Perform tawaf
  • Pray two nafl in front of Makamu Ibrahim.
  • Drink Zamzam
  • Goto Safa' Marwah and perform sai.
  • Clip the hair or shave your head.

Your umrah is done.

You can continue to stay at Masjid al-haram or go back to your room.

Leaving Haram

You must have confirmed which terminal you are departing from. Your journey to the airport can be 90 mins. Flight checking closes before 60 mins. Zam water purchasing at the airport can take 15 mins. So leave for the airport before 200 mins of departure. i mean 3 hours and 20 minutes.

So how long did it take?

  • (ﷺ)- (salallahu Alai wasallam)- May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him
  • رضي الله عنه (Radhiallahu’ Anhu) - May Allah be pleased with him
  • عليه السلام (Alaihi Salam) - Peace be upon him
