The ruling on trimming Cutting or shaving the hair for Umrah.

Rules on trimming the hair for the Umrah.

You must trim or shave your hair off, as a part of Umrah. It is one of the compulsories and the last act of Umrah. This act is known as tahallul. The question is, whether to shave the hair off or to trim or cut a portion of the hair. Let us find out.

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)  made three special Duas, for the pilgrims who shave their head. May Allah's mercy be on those who shave the hair. May Allah's mercy be on those who shave the hair. May Allah mercy be on those who shave the hair. Then the companions asked, "how about the ones who trim their hair Ya Rasulullah"? Then he said, "on them too".

So from the above hadith, we understand that shaving the hair off is more virtuous.  So, the best option to shave your hair. trimming the hair too is completely permissible.

So now you got the answer for the first question. Can a pilgrim trim his hair?

The answer is yes.

now the next question one may ask me is, how much in length a male pilgrim must trim? Around a centimeter of length or more, is permissible according to the majority of the scholars.

If your hair is very short to the extent that you cannot trim anymore, then you must shave the hair.

Then there is another question that arises? How much of the area of the head, a pilgrim must trim? As in, is permissible to trim the sides or one fringe of the hair?

Now if you have trim all of the hair, it has taken you out from any confusion that may arise from the difference of opinion, where this is what majority of the scholars recommend too. we (myumrahguide.com) encourage you to trim all of your hair.

But when it comes to the ruling, some scholars have said even trimming as little as three hair is sufficient.

Again, myumrahguide.com encourage you to trim all of your hair.

Are you feeling shy or awkward to face your family friends or colleagues?

If you feel awkward or shy about how others people will receive you wit short hair or bald head, I can give you a trick. Trim your hair short before you go on the pilgrim. Then your shaved head could be more familiar when you come back. If you work in company, where most of your colleges are non Muslims, you can even tell them, That you are going on a pilgrim and not to be surprised if you come back bald.

For the woman, you are not allowed to shave off your hair. Women have to trim their hair. Make sure no mahram sees you when you open your scarfs. If there is no one is Available to cut your hair. You can cut it yourself.

To answer the question on how much hair a woman pilgrim needs to trim?

woman have to cut around inch from All part of her hair. For an example comb the hair parting equally and cut one inch from each sides, right left and back, from the bottom of your hair.

After the trimming the hair your umrah is completed. You my come out of ihram.
